The
explanation of unschooling depends on who you
ask. It does not mean throw your children in front
of a TV and ignore them.
The
term "unschooling" usually refers to
methods by John Holt (see the Growing
Without Schooling magazine). Unschoolers
promote the curiosity and the natural love of
learning in all children. Some unschoolers believe
that curriculum is too limiting. Like the discipleship
approach, children lean by living life. Parents
present interesting subjects and allow children
the time to pursue the subject as fully as they
want, rather than imposing artificial time constraints
on them. This a somewhat child directed approach.

Unschooling Network or Natural
Schooling for more information.
