Seven
Principles of an
Effective Biblical Worldview
by

1.
Worship is a 24 hour activity.
In
John 4: 20-24, Jesus said people should worship
God in spirit and in truth. In essence,
Jesus was saying that worship should not be isolated
to a time or place, but that our whole life
was worship. This differs from the modern view
of "going to worship." In God's view
we become worship ourselves (Romans 12:1,2). On
a practical level this means Christians
are called by God to be an influence in everything
we do and that we should not limit ourselves
to areas which are religious.
2.
Biblical worldview is crucial in maintaining a
stable, healthy society.
In
Colossians 1:16-17, Paul noted that Jesus Christ
holds all things together. The reason why
much in our society is chaotic and confused is
because of the lack of a Christian influence.
3.
There are two forces: life and death.
This
isn't some New Age concept, it is scripture. In
John 10:10 we are informed that Satan comes
to "kill, steal, and destroy," while
Jesus came to "give life." This view
transcends virtually everything. For example,
in the realm of economics, Satan's pro-death
views have led to population control, abortion,
wealth redistribution and other policies
which have harmed the economy and the people these
policies were supposed to help.
4.
Exercising biblical worldview requires recognizing
God's authority.
Everything,
including the government, is subject to God's
authority (Romans 13:1-4; Acts 4:16-20;
Acts 5:27-29). When you live in a country where
Christians are allowed to be involved, it
is imperative that you work to keep your nation
in submission to God
5.
History supports Christianity rather than humanism.
In
government schools throughout America there has
been a divorce of Christianity from history.
But all of the founders of this nation argued
that America's success was contingent on
its relationship with God. They knew that America
would eventually collapse without sound
policies based on God's law.
6.
Be bold in the fact that Christianity is intellectually,
as well as spiritually superior to humanism.
The
prophets of humanism -- Marx, Rousseau, Darwin,
and others -- often lived immoral lives
and their philosophies contributed to genocide,
racism, and slavery. God's worldview is superior
to any of the immoral ideas of the philosophers.
7.
Think and behave with a biblical worldview.
Christians
must learn to test all things, study God's word,
focus on the cause and not the symptoms
of problems, and should strive for consistency
in their thinking (I John 4:17; Psalms 40:8;
Ephesians 4: 14-15). Furthermore, Christians need
to strive to solve problems rather than
pass them on to the government and others, they
should avail themselves to be politically
involved, and churches should become vibrant social
institutions.
