State Standards
Standards
identify what students in schools are to know
and be able to do. Standards are set for reading/writing,
mathematics, science and social studies/history.
Each state has its own set of standards.
The
term "standard'' has been used in a variety
of ways, overlapping with other terms such as
scope and sequence, goals, essential learnings
or expectations.
