Kids With Disabilities offers information and
support to people who have chosen to homeschool
their children with special educational needs.
The
Home Education Special Needs Webring - This
Webring is dedicated to those families and organizations
that deal with the education of children with
disabilities at home. This webring was created
as a support route for families who are looking
for answers.
Homeschool
Special Needs List Group HSSN, the Homeschooling
Email List for Special Needs/Medically Fragile
Children. The focus is homeschooling families
with at least one special needs child. Most members
have medically fragile children dealing challenges
in speech, motor development and learning disabilities.
Topics include: curricula, speech, feeding issues,
OT, PT, "other" sibling survival strategies,
staying "sane" (whatever that is??)
and a host of other issues.
Kaleidoscapes
Special Needs Board - This board is a special
board for parents who are homeschooling their
kids with special needs. It isn't a heavily visited
board, but the support is invaluable. The Special
Needs board is hosted by Barbara Page.
Learning
Differently great on-line resources for families
who are teaching children whose learning, for
various reasons, does not match the typical learning
curve.
NATional
cHallenged Homeschoolers Associated Network
- NATHHAN has a support network of over 7,500.
Some of these are homeschooling professionals
willing to help, some are companies having an
interest in serving challenged homeschoolers,
but most are families homeschooling special needs
children.
Parents
Instructing Challenged Children - PICC is
a network of parents home schooling, or thinking
about home schooling, their handicapped child.
The parents of any child who would be labeled
by the Committee on Special Education of the public
school system would be invited to join PICC. Members
have children with a wide range of handicapping
conditions (learning disabled, attention deficit,
cerebral palsy, blindness, hearing loss, Downs
Syndrome, microcephalous, etc).
